Timberline Webwork's seeds were sown in 1994 when Joan and Andy Meng moved to Colorado Springs from San Diego where Andy had spent the previous 9 years as a Naval Flight Officer based on the aircraft carrier USS Ranger. The rigors and challenges of flying operation missions on and off the deck of an aircraft carrier gave Andy the discipline and mission orientation to take on starting a new business in a highly risky industry based on this new thing called "The Internet". Back in 1994 you could visit every website there was in a single day! There was no Google, no Facebook, no Instagram. There were no smartphones. There were tools called "Archie" and "Gopher" and "WAIS" and "FTP". There was a web browser called "Mozilla" that morphed into "Netscape", but there were no media rich websites. At the time, websites were purely informational and the idea of a graphically based interface was anathema to the early founders of the world wide web. But the potential of a world wide network of connected devices and databases was compelling so the risk was taken and the business started.
Timberline Webworks was incorporated in the late 1990s and became the parent corporation of Infront Webworks, a custom website design and internet marketing company that still exists in Colorado Springs. Andy and Joan grew Infront to the point where it was the premier website design company in Colorado, then sold it in 2012 and continued to work with Infront for 3 years. They reconstituted Timberline Webworks in 2016 as an experience based company providing highly effective, quality websites for small businesses.
Today, Andy and Joan live on their quiet 5 acre "homestead" in the Black Forest north of Colorado Springs. Their inspiration is drawn from the natural beauty and peacefulness of the Pikes Peak region of Colorado (hence all the photos of mountain vistas on this website). Their mission is to provide valuable, effective websites for small businesses and organizations in a way that is enjoyable and satisfying.
